Film Selection: A La Juventud Filipina by Placido Falsario II

SYNOPSIS

A La Juventud Filipina (To The Filipino Youth) is loosely based from Jose Rizal’s (Philippine’s National Hero) first poem. It is a symbolic compilation of the country’s situation and how the youth can be the catalyst to its change for betterment. The film is an experimental attempt to recount the story of a lady trying to hold on for her child despite the tragedies that she is passing through.

FILMMAKER

Placido Falsario II developed his love for filmmaking with subjects that he took during college like Film Criticism and Digital Film Production. He is currently working as a video editor for a production company (Pixeleyes Multimedia). A La Juventud is his first short film outside the university.
